New Hampshire: LIVE FREE OR DIE

The (WOW) White Mountains

We made our way out of the Fingerlakes to Vermont. With the Anthonys and Thackers away, our plans were to go right through. It was just so beautiful we decided to camp for a night. We would love to come back to explore with the 'locals' sometime, sorry we didn't meet up.
We are now on day 6 of our journey sitting at the base of Mount Washington in the parking lot of the COG RAILWAY. (the only place we have managed reception for any communication device!) We love this area! So many waterfalls, gorges, beautiful hikes, trees, and chipmunks (evidentally the main wildlife):). Our days have been filled with hikes up mountain trails, squeezing through caves, swimming in waterfalls, and evening plans for a campfire cancelled by rain, all the better for well needed sleep. The state motto says it all: Live Free or Die. We are off to catch a train!!
Recommended hikes and fun:
The Basin to Lafayette Campground (passing by Lonesome Lake to cool off) - do it in that order, the hike up from the Basin is amazing, but would be lost if you hiked down.
Swimming in any one of the waterfalls
Riding bikes on the Recreational Path along the river.
